ABOUT

Poster printing for York, without the print shop

York is standard UK delivery: included, tracked, usually two to three working days after dispatch. Prints ordered before 3pm on a working day leave the same day; framed prints take one to three working days to make first.

Most York orders are a photo someone wants on a wall rather than on a phone: a holiday, a wedding, a dog. Those print well at almost any size, landscape or portrait, and the crop tool lets you choose which way round before you pay. A landscape photo above a sofa is usually 16x24 or A2; a portrait for a hallway is usually A3.

The paper is 240gsm giclée in gloss, satin or matte at one price, frames are Black, White or Oak pine with plexiglass, ready to hang, there's no minimum, three or more prints to one address are 20% off, and prices are set for the five thousand or so sellers who use us every day rather than for walk-in customers.

Homes
Photos, digital downloads, children's drawings, gig posters. One print, no minimum, delivered to the door.
Businesses
Office art, event signage, exhibition and market prints. Pay per order, no account manager required.
Sellers
More than 5,000 shops print with us every day, which is why a single poster costs so little.

THE PAPER

Paper you can feel

Every poster is printed on 240gsm archival paper, FSC-certified, with giclée-quality inks. It's the paper our sellers get rave reviews for, and it's the same for a single print as for a thousand. Three finishes, all the same price.

Gloss
Bold, vibrant colours with a reflective shine. The one for photos.
Satin
Smooth, subtle sheen with minimal glare. Lifts colour without the shine.
Matte
Classic flat finish, no reflections. The choice for art prints and anything behind glass.

Printing in York: your questions

Can I print landscape?

Yes. Every size can be printed either way round; the crop tool offers portrait and landscape and the price is the same.

Do you do mounts?

No, but the same look is easy: add a white border to your file before you upload and it prints as part of the image, with the frame sitting on the border.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Every order ships tracked and you get the number by email the moment it leaves production.

How long will the print last?

It's archival paper with giclée-quality inks, so it won't yellow or fade in normal indoor light. Keep it out of direct sun, or behind the plexiglass of a frame, and it'll outlast the wall.

Poster printing near York

Delivery covers York and North Yorkshire, including Harrogate, Selby, Malton, Thirsk, Tadcaster and Knaresborough, at the same price. Nearby: Leeds and Newcastle. Across the country: the UK.

Photos: portrait or landscape, and which size

Every size prints either way round, so the first decision is the photo's own shape. Landscape photos want a landscape print, and the crop tool offers both, with the price the same. Forcing a landscape photo into a portrait size means cropping out the sides, which is usually what made it a good photo.

Size follows the wall. A landscape photo above a sofa or a bed is usually 16x24 or A2; a portrait for a hallway or beside a door is usually A3 or A2; a square print for a shelf or a cluster is 12x12 or 16x16. If the photo has a lot of sky or sea in it, go bigger than you think; those images look better with room.

Satin is the finish for most photos; gloss if you want the colour as bright as it looks on your phone; matte if it's going behind glass. And if it's a photo someone sent you, ask for the original rather than printing the copy from a messaging app, which will have been shrunk.
