Getting a phone photo ready to print

The photo you print should be the original, not a copy that's been through a messaging app. WhatsApp, Messenger and most social apps shrink images before sending, so a photo that was sent to you will print softer than the one that was taken. Ask for the original, or use AirDrop or a cloud link, which keep the full size.

If you're on an iPhone and the file won't upload, it's probably a HEIC; save it as a JPEG first, which the phone does when you share it or export it. Then pick a size in the same shape as the photo, which for most phone photos is 3:4, so 30x40cm or 18x24, and the crop tool will show you the fit.

Beyond that, trust your eyes. If it looks sharp on the screen it'll print well up to A2 or 20x30, and the uploader will tell you if a file is too small for the size you've picked. Satin or gloss for photos, matte if it's going behind glass.
