How long it takes

In the UK, prints ordered before 3pm on a working day are dispatched the same day and usually arrive two to three working days later, tracked. Framed prints take one to three working days to make first. For a date, a week ahead is comfortable for a print and ten days for a frame. Outside the UK, production and delivery times are on the page for your country.

Framed, so there's nothing left for them to do

Black, White or Oak pine, 20–25mm deep, glazed with shatter-resistant plexiglass, hanging kit in the box. Printed matte so there's no glare behind the glass. Most sizes up to A1.

Black frame

A smooth black finish. Pine, 20–25mm deep, with 1–2mm shatter-resistant plexiglass.

Oak frame

A natural oak finish. Corner-protected in transit and delivered with the hanging kit in the box.

White frame

A clean white frame. Printed matte so there's no glare behind the glass, ready to hang the moment it arrives.

Choose a size

A5 to A0, 5x7 to 28x40 inches and squares. Pick the one that suits the shape of your image; the crop frame changes to match it.

Which frame if I don't know their walls?

Black. It suits almost every room and almost every image. Oak if the photo is warm, White if you know the room is bright and modern.

Choosing a print as a gift

Start with the image, not the size. The photo should be about them, not you: them in it, something they made, somewhere they love. A photo they've seen a hundred times on a phone is a different thing at A3 on a wall, and that's the gift. If it's a photo someone sent you, ask for the original rather than the copy from a messaging app, which will have been shrunk.

Then size and frame. A3 framed is the safe present: big enough to hang, small enough to go anywhere, and it arrives finished. A2 is for when you know the wall. A4 or 8x10 suits a desk or a shelf. Framed beats unframed as a gift almost every time, because nobody has to do anything with it; unframed is for someone who already has a frame or a wall of them.

Last, timing. A week ahead for a print, ten days for a frame, in the UK; longer elsewhere. If you're tight, order unframed, which leaves the same day, and let them choose the frame.
