Meet the Team
Small Team, Big Dreams
PrintShrimp has grown to the Print on Demand powerhouse it is today as either a team of two, or a team of three.
The idea of PrintShrimp came about when Tom, who was an e-commerce seller with multiple poster POD stores, and Max, who had just sold his vintage clothing company, came together. The idea was simple - build a human first platform for poster POD - and just for posters - so we could focus solely on them and provide the best service possible.
The problem was, when we started, we had no website or order portal, and a very poor print network. We decided in order to attract customers, we would go the customer creation route, and teach people for free how they could sell posters on Etsy.
So, we 'launched' PrintShrimp to a few brave souls who learnt how to sell posters through our guidance (shout out to Mihai, Charlie, Kirsty and others). As we had no order portal, customers would literally email their poster orders over and we would then copy and paste their order to the relevant supplier. This was happening whilst Max was frantically building our order platform in the background.
The Growth of PrintShrimp
We are incredibly proud and feel privileged to have been able to continue growing our customer base largely through education, empowering people to earn a side income online through our free knowledge!
Our Skool community has been a very powerful arm of our business and it is a pleasure every day to see people celebrating their first, hundredth, or thousandth sale on Etsy.
These 6,500 users and over 12,000 print orders a week have come through purely organic social media channels. We are very excited to be exploring paid channels and beginning the expansion of our sales team.
Our Motivations
PrintShrimp was started, honestly, out of frustration at the poster POD industry. Tom was (and is) the owner of a few six figure Etsy shops, but struggled with the existing options in the print on demand industry for reliable printing options.
