You can print work that's out of copyright, which in the UK means the artist died more than seventy years ago, so a Turner is fine and a living painter's print is not. And you can print a photo a friend took if they're happy for you to.

You can't print a copy of a print, postcard, poster or book page you bought, because buying the object doesn't include the right to reproduce it; nor a photo you found online without asking; nor a film still, a band's artwork or a brand's logo. We print what you upload and don't check, so the rights are yours to hold, and a seller found reproducing someone else's work is removed.

If you love a living artist's work, most sell prints or licences themselves; buying one supports them and gets you a better file than a scan of a postcard.
