Your Etsy print shop already has designs, listings and customers. Switching fulfilment should help you build on that work—not send you back to the beginning.
Our Etsy print on demand integration connects your existing listings to the artwork we need to print your orders. Match your product SKUs, upload files for the sizes you sell and check a small batch before bringing across more of your catalogue.
With PrintShrimp, you keep designing, listing, marketing and looking after your buyers. We print, frame, pack and ship their orders, white-label. Bulk Upload, Bulk Add Sizes and our free Etsy SKU editor help you get the catalogue organised without rebuilding each product from scratch.
1. Keep your Etsy listings and connect the artwork behind them
You do not need to recreate your existing Etsy listings to use our fulfilment. The connection works through SKUs: the product codes that link a listing to its artwork.
Connect your shop through Tools → Integrations → Etsy in your PrintShrimp account. You can then import eligible open Etsy orders into Create Orders, where matching SKUs connect each item to its saved print file.
The buyer’s selected size determines which file we use. Their order details also help identify the product format, paper finish and frame colour.
No artwork match yet? The customer’s address still imports, and the item asks you to add artwork before you can pay. That means you can start with a manageable collection rather than uploading your entire shop before using us.
2. Give each design one SKU across its Etsy variations
The simplest catalogue structure is one unique product SKU per design, shared across that listing’s size and frame options. You do not need a separate Etsy SKU for every size: we read the size from the order.
For example, a coastal illustration could use COAST-01 across its variations. In PrintShrimp, that product holds the artwork files for each size you offer.
| Catalogue element | Example | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Design’s product SKU | COAST-01 | Identifies the artwork |
| Buyer’s chosen size | 12x18 | Selects the required print file |
| Buyer’s chosen format | Black frame | Tells us how to make the order |
Give a different design its own code, such as COAST-02. Sharing one SKU between unrelated designs makes the artwork choice unclear.
Already using size-specific codes? Our free Change SKUs tool can remove size endings, add prefixes or suffixes, and find and replace text across selected Etsy listings. You preview the changes before applying them, so you can tidy a small collection first.
Only remove the size portion of a code if the remaining SKU still identifies the correct design. A useful code distinguishes the artwork, not just the product category.
3. Group your artwork by shape before uploading
A well-organised poster print on demand catalogue needs more than tidy filenames. The artwork must also match the proportions of the sizes you sell.
A 2:3 design and an A-series design are not interchangeable. Using the wrong shape can crop the composition, including lettering or details near the edges.
Start by separating your files into shape groups. For example:
- A-series artwork: prepare files for sizes such as A4, A3 and A2.
- 2:3 artwork: prepare files for sizes such as 12x18, 16x24 and 24x36.
- 4:5 artwork: prepare files for sizes such as 8x10 and 16x20.
You can offer multiple shapes for the same design, but each needs an appropriately composed file. Keep text, borders and important details safely inside the artwork rather than relying on cropping to make everything fit.
PrintShrimp checks artwork shape when you save product files. However, low-resolution files are not blocked automatically, so check that your artwork is sharp enough for the largest size you intend to sell.
The benefit: organising by shape now gives incoming orders the right file—not simply another version of the same picture.
4. Use Bulk Upload to bring across your first collection
Once your codes and artwork are ready, Bulk Upload creates up to 500 products at once in My Print Files. Each filename becomes the product’s name and SKU.
For your first batch, use a small collection with a consistent shape and straightforward variations. A group of 2:3 coastal illustrations, for example, is easier to check than a mixture of posters, personalised designs and multi-print sets.
- Name each file to match its Etsy product SKU. For example, use COAST-01.jpg for the listing using COAST-01.
- Select the matching size group. Bulk Upload uses one size group per batch and applies each image to every size in that group.
- Upload and inspect the products. Check that the expected designs and sizes are present before expanding.
We accept JPG/JPEG, PNG and PDF product files in the dashboard, up to 50 MB each. JPG or PNG keeps the process straightforward.
This is how you bring the artwork behind your existing listings into PrintShrimp. Your Etsy product pages stay in place; the uploaded files give us what we need to fulfil their orders.
5. Add other shapes with Bulk Add Sizes—not duplicate products
Suppose COAST-01 already has its 2:3 files, but you also sell it in A-series sizes. You do not need another product with a different code.
Bulk Add Sizes fills missing sizes on existing products while leaving their current artwork untouched. Prepare the A-series version, give its filename the exact product SKU—including capitalisation—and use Bulk Add Sizes for the relevant size group.
Your product can then hold different compositions for different sizes under the same SKU. When an order arrives, we use the file saved for the exact size ordered; we do not substitute another size’s file.
This is particularly useful when moving an established catalogue. Bring across one shape first, add the others as they are ready, and keep each design together rather than creating a growing pile of duplicate products.
6. Check a small batch of orders before expanding
Once the first collection is uploaded, import your open Etsy orders and check how those designs arrive in Pending Orders.
Leave auto-pay off while you confirm the setup. Imported orders then wait for your final check and payment before entering production.
For your first batch, confirm:
- Artwork: does the pictured file match the design purchased?
- Size: is there a saved file for the exact size ordered?
- Product: is the item correctly identified as an unframed or framed print?
- Finish: are the paper choice and any frame colour correct?
Missing artwork is flagged before payment. Uploading the file for the matching SKU and size fills waiting order items automatically, except bundle prints and items affected by duplicate SKUs.
For personalised designs, replace the attached artwork with the buyer’s personalised file before paying. Importing their personalisation text does not change the image we print.
Once this batch is working as expected, repeat the same process for your next collection. You are expanding a proven setup rather than trying to untangle the whole shop at once.
Make the switch worthwhile beyond the upload
A connected catalogue should give you more room to grow your shop. Our Premium paper is archival grade, at least 200gsm and 260gsm in most locations, with matte, satin and gloss options for unframed prints.
You can also offer ready-to-hang framed prints in Black, Oak or White pine frames. We print and frame the artwork, then deliver the finished product with a hanging kit. The same saved size file can serve an unframed or framed order.
For ongoing order management, Etsy tracking sync sends tracking back to Etsy and marks the order dispatched when enabled. Once your catalogue is ready, optional Etsy auto-import and wallet auto-pay can reduce repeat work; auto-pay only pays orders that are ready.
There are no monthly fulfilment fees or minimum orders. Standard shipping is included for the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and our listed EU regions; Rest of World shipping is charged separately. Check current pricing and estimated production and delivery times for your buyers’ destinations.
