What's the Fine Art paper for?

Limited editions, art reproductions, illustration and photography where the paper is part of the piece: 300gsm, 100% cotton rag, cold-press texture, non-reflective. It costs more than the standard paper and is worth it for work you're selling as art.

Can I print a square image?

Yes. Square sizes run from 10x10 to 20x20 inches, so square artwork and social-media images print without cropping.

How do I get the colours to match my screen?

Work in RGB; we convert to sRGB for printing, so RGB files are the most predictable. A screen is backlit and paper isn't, so expect a print to be a touch less bright than the screen, most noticeably on matte.

Standard paper or Fine Art: how to choose

The standard paper, 240gsm archival stock with giclée-quality inks, is what the vast majority of prints go on, and for photos, posters and most art it's the right call: heavy, sharp, and priced for volume. Fine Art is a different thing: 300gsm cotton rag with a cold-press texture and no reflection at all, the paper galleries and limited-edition sellers use.

Choose Fine Art when the paper is part of the piece: illustration, painting reproductions, photography sold as art, anything numbered and signed. The texture takes ink differently, colours sit a little softer, and in the hand it feels like a print rather than a poster. Choose the standard paper for everything else, including anything going behind glass, where the texture is lost anyway.

If you sell your work, order one of each on both papers before deciding. The difference is obvious in person and invisible on a screen, and a test print costs less than guessing wrong on a batch.
