In short
-
GET /api-get-pricing?country=XXreturns the current price of an order to that country, per size, for a print, a framed print and a fine art print, in GBP. Prices are set per country and kept current on our side, so one call gives you the right figures without maintaining a price list of your own. - Prices include standard shipping for the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and every EU country we price. Rest of World orders carry a shipping charge, returned in the same call. Shipping is charged once per order.
- UK prices include 20% VAT inside the price, never added on top. Every other country has
vat_rate0, and local duties at the destination are not included. - Every print in an order of 3 or more prints to one address is 20% off, automatically. Fine art counts separately, frames never count, and separate orders don’t combine.
- Your quote is: our price per item, discount applied if it qualifies, shipping once if any, converted from GBP to the seller’s selling currency at a live rate, plus the seller’s margin and their marketplace fees. The seller sets the margin.
Before you start
- An API key (see Get Access).
- The delivery country, as a 2-letter ISO code. Prices depend on where the order ships to, not where the seller is.
- Human-readable price tables, a CSV download and the “When will my order arrive?” checker are on printshrimp.com/pages/pricing, and sellers see the same in the app at Tools → Pricing. Link people there; agents use the call.

country is required: a 2-letter ISO code (GB, not UK) or a full country name. Values in angle brackets below are placeholders; the live call returns the real numbers.

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
currency |
Always GBP. We price and bill in pounds for every country. |
size / label
|
size is the value to send on orders and products; label is for display. 30x40cm is labelled 12x16" and 50x70cm 20x28". |
print |
A print on our Premium paper. Matte, satin and gloss all cost the same. |
frame |
A framed print in Black, White or Oak; all three cost the same. null where we don’t frame that size or don’t ship frames to that country. |
fine_art |
A print on our Fine Art cotton rag paper, which costs more than Premium. null where it isn’t offered. |
price |
What one of that item costs, shipping excluded. For the UK it includes VAT. |
shipping |
Charged once per order, on the first item, whatever the order contains. Zero where shipping is included. |
vat_rate, vat_amount, net_price
|
For the UK, vat_rate is 0.2 and vat_amount is the VAT already inside price; net_price is the price without it. Elsewhere all three are zero or equal to the price. |
Sizes not offered at all to that country are left out. A country with no prices of its own gets Rest of World prices. Errors: 400 Missing required query parameter: country, 400 Unknown country: XX, 404 No pricing available for <country>.
Where prices differ
- Prints are priced per region: UK, USA, Germany, France & Spain, EU1 (Italy, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg), EU2 (Czechia, Greece, Poland, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia), Australia, Canada, and World for everywhere else, including Cyprus, Malta, Switzerland and Norway.
- Frames have one EU price covering every EU country we price, plus UK, USA, Canada, Australia and World; Cyprus and Malta are priced as World.
- Fine art is made for the UK, the EU, the USA and Canada. Within the EU, Austria, Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands pay the EU price; the rest of the EU pays a higher Rest of EU price. The call returns the right one for the country you send.
- The UK covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Jersey and Guernsey are ordered as
GBwith their JE or GY postcode and carry no UK VAT. - 8.5x11 is offered to the USA only. Not every size ships everywhere; the call tells you by leaving sizes out or returning
null.
The 3+ prints discount
- Every print in an order of 3 or more prints, to one delivery address, is 20% off. Any mix of sizes, papers and designs counts, and each copy counts separately.
- Fine art counts on its own: 3 or more fine art prints in one order are 20% off each, and prints and fine art don’t add up together, so 2 prints plus 1 fine art print gets nothing off.
- Frames never count towards the 3 and are never discounted. The discount comes off print and fine art prices only, never off frames, shipping, Priority or the Tracking Upgrade.
- It applies automatically on every account, with no code, to orders from Etsy, Shopify, the app, CSV and the API. Separate orders don’t combine, even to the same address, because it is worked out per order. A bundle of 3 prints qualifies by itself.
- For the UK the 20% comes off the VAT-inclusive price.
GET /api-get-pricingreturns the single-print price per size, so apply the rule yourself when quoting a qualifying order.
Shipping and upgrades
- Standard shipping is included for the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain and every EU1 and EU2 country; the call returns
shippingas zero there. Rest of World orders pay theshippingfigure once per order. - The Tracking Upgrade turns small UK prints (A5, A4, 5x7, 6x8, 8x10) from untracked letter post into a fully tracked delivery for a small fee per order; orders that already ship tracked are never charged for it. Priority is a UK-only express option for prints, a flat charge per order that replaces standard shipping. Neither applies to orders containing a frame or a fine art print.
- The two upgrade fees are not returned by
GET /api-get-pricing. They are listed on printshrimp.com/pages/pricing, and an order’sshipping_costandtotal_pricein thePOST /api-create-orderresponse show what will be charged before anything is paid.
Setting a margin
The seller decides their selling price; your job is to make the cost side exact. For an order of known contents to a known country:
- Call
GET /api-get-pricingfor the delivery country and takepricefor each item:print,frameorfine_artat its size. - If 3 or more prints (or 3 or more fine art prints) are in the order, take 20% off those items.
- Add
shippingonce if it is non-zero, and any upgrade fee the seller chooses. - That total, in GBP, is what the seller’s wallet or card is charged. For a UK delivery it already contains VAT; the seller handles their own tax position with their buyer.
- Convert to the seller’s selling currency at a current rate (we bill in GBP; a card in another currency is converted by the seller’s bank) and add the seller’s margin and their marketplace and payment fees. Those fees are the seller’s business, not ours.
For listings, where the delivery country isn’t known yet, quote the main market the seller sells to and let them decide how to handle the rest. The Listing Hub’s templates come with recommended Etsy prices converted from GBP to the shop currency for the seller to review, and it suggests adding a little for international orders. High-volume sellers can ask us about custom pricing through printshrimp.com/pages/contact; that conversation is the seller’s to have, so quote from the call until they tell you otherwise.
Keeping quotes current
- Fetch prices for the delivery country when you quote and again when you place the order, rather than copying figures into your own code. That way your quotes always match what the seller is charged, with nothing to maintain.
- The call is read-only, free and limited to 2,000 an hour per account, which is plenty to re-quote before every order.
- Prices in other currencies shown in the app are approximate conversions for display. Use a live rate of your own for quoting, and expect the seller to be charged in GBP.
Rules and limits
- Treat the call as the price list: fetch rather than copy, and send people to printshrimp.com/pages/pricing for the tables.
- All prices and all charges are in GBP. VAT depends on the delivery address: 20% inside UK prices, none elsewhere; import duties at the destination are not included and not ours. Rest of World framed orders ship with duties unpaid.
- Software subscriptions and AI credits are priced separately from printing and aren’t available through the API; plan details are at printshrimp.com/pages/bulk-listing.
