What size goes above a sofa?

A2 is the usual answer, or two A3s side by side. A1 if the sofa is wide and the wall is bare. Order the size unframed first if you're unsure; it's the cheapest way to see it in the room.

Can I print a gig or event poster I've been sent?

If you have the right to print it, yes: your own design, or one the organiser has given you to print. We can't print other people's artwork or official posters without permission.

How far ahead should I order for an event?

A week is comfortable. Prints ordered before 3pm on a working day leave the same day and usually arrive two to three working days later; Priority at checkout is the fastest option for orders of prints.

What's the smallest size?

A5 and 5x7 inches. Small prints go through the same presses on the same paper and are delivered tracked like everything else.

Choosing a size, wall by wall

The mistake most people make is going small. A print that looked big on a screen looks modest on a wall, so when you're between two sizes, take the larger one. As a guide: A4 and A3 suit a desk, a shelf or a cluster of frames. A2 is the usual size above a sofa, a bed or a sideboard. A1 is for a wall you want to make the room about, and A0 is for a stairwell or a very tall room.

Width matters as much as height. A single print above a sofa usually wants to be about two thirds of the sofa's width, which is why A2 works for most and two A3s side by side works for a wider one. For a hallway or a narrow wall, go taller rather than wider: A3 or A2 portrait.

If you can't decide, order the size you're considering unframed. It's cheap, it tells you more than any guide, and the frame can follow in a second order.
