Personalised posters give your customers a reason to choose your shop: their names, their dates, their story, turned into wall art. But each sale also needs the right artwork—not just the design attached to your original listing.
With PrintShrimp, you can sell personalised print on demand posters while keeping control of the creative work. Connect your Etsy shop, import the order and its personalisation text, then attach the finished customer-specific file before payment. We print, pack and ship it straight to your buyer, white label.
Already selling personalised prints? Here’s how to bring those orders into PrintShrimp, manage proofs and payment, and offer framed options without taking on the physical fulfilment.
Keep the personal touch. Hand over the printing.
A personalised name print, anniversary poster or birth announcement starts with your design. The customer supplies their details; you turn those details into finished artwork.
We don’t generate personalised artwork for you. On Etsy imports, the buyer’s personalisation text and note appear on the order for you to use. We print the artwork file attached to the item—not the personalisation text itself.
That gives you a clear division of work:
- You: design, list and market the product, check customer details, manage any proofs and attach the final artwork.
- We: print the attached file, frame it if ordered, pack it and deliver it to your customer.
You keep the design decisions and customer relationship. We take care of making and sending the physical product, with no PrintShrimp branding on the fulfilment.
Bring Etsy orders and personalisation details into one place
Connect your shop through Tools → Integrations → Etsy, then use Import Orders in Create Orders. Eligible paid, undispatched physical orders come into PrintShrimp for checking before you pay us for fulfilment.
Your Etsy buyer’s personalisation and note appear as Personalisation and Buyer note. That puts their instructions alongside the order you need to prepare, rather than leaving you to copy their delivery address into a separate order.
SKU matching handles the reusable part. When your Etsy listing SKU matches your PrintShrimp product, we attach the saved artwork for the ordered size. On Etsy, use one product SKU across the listing’s size variations; the size is read from the order.
For personalised products, treat that matched artwork as your starting point—not confirmation that the order is ready to print. A saved design cannot know which name or date this customer wants.
Moving an existing catalogue? You don’t need to upload everything at once. Add products as you go. If your Etsy listings currently use different SKUs for each size, our free Change SKUs tool lets you preview bulk changes before applying them.
Attach the personalised file before you pay
The most important step is simple: finish and attach the customer’s artwork before paying for the order.
Consider an anniversary poster. Your listing has a reusable layout, but each buyer chooses different names and a date. The order imports with those details; you create the final version and replace the artwork on that specific pending item.
- Read the imported details. Check spelling, dates and any buyer note. Resolve missing or conflicting information with your customer.
- Create the personalised artwork. Use your design software to produce the customer-specific file in the shape and resolution needed for their chosen size.
- Manage any proof. If your service includes approval, send the proof and wait for the customer’s response before proceeding.
- Replace the order artwork. On the unpaid order, use Edit Image beneath the item’s picture to attach the finished file.
- Check, then pay. Confirm the artwork, size, product, frame colour where relevant and delivery address before sending the order into production.
Use the artwork on the individual order for that customer’s version. You don’t need to replace your reusable product file with every buyer’s personalised design.
If an order contains several personalised posters, check each item separately. The correct address won’t help if two customers’ names have ended up on the wrong artwork.
Set auto-pay around your personalisation process
Automation is useful for repeat designs. Personalised posters need an extra decision before production: is this customer’s artwork actually finished?
Auto-pay does not hold personalised Etsy orders back. If the order has matched artwork and otherwise meets the app’s Ready checks, it can be paid even though you still need to personalise the design.
For a shop that waits for customer approval, the clearest approach is to turn auto-pay off and pay after approval. Unpaid orders stay in Pending Orders until you’re ready.
If your workflow suits a delay, Settings → Order Automation lets you choose when ready Etsy orders are paid from your wallet: immediately, or after 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours. The delay runs from when the order was imported, not when the customer placed it on Etsy.
A delay gives you time to work; it is not an approval check. If a proof could take longer than your chosen delay, leave auto-pay off. That setting applies to ready Etsy and API orders, so consider your whole order mix when choosing it.
Keep proofs under your control—not the production clock
Your proof process is part of your customer service. Decide whether buyers receive a proof, where they approve it and what information you need before preparing their final file.
PrintShrimp does not collect that approval for you. Keep the order unpaid while you resolve changes, then attach the approved version and pay when everything is ready.
Payment is the handover point. A paid order can enter production at the next production send, potentially within minutes. There is no guaranteed editing window after payment, and an order cannot be changed once production has started.
If you spot a mistake after paying, contact us promptly through the order’s Report a problem option. We’ll check what is still possible, but don’t build your workflow around making changes after payment.
Offer a finished gift with ready-to-hang framed prints
Personalisation makes a print specific to the buyer. Framing lets you offer it as a finished piece, without asking them to find and fit a frame themselves.
Our ready-to-hang framed prints come in Black, Oak and White pine frames, with 1–2mm shatter-resistant plexiglass and a hanging kit. We insert the artwork, protect the corners and box the order for delivery.
Framed prints use matte paper. There is no mount; if your design needs a mount-style appearance, include a white border in the artwork itself. Keep names and other important details away from the edges, where trimming or the frame can overlap them.
For unframed posters, our Premium archival-grade paper is at least 200gsm and 260gsm in most locations, with matte, satin and gloss finishes available.
You can expand the presentation of an existing personalised design without stocking frames or assembling orders yourself.
Build listings that make personalisation clear
A clear listing helps customers provide usable details—and helps you prepare their order without avoidable messages.
Show a personalised example in context, explain exactly what the buyer can change and state whether a proof is included. Make the difference between print-only and framed options easy to understand.
If you’re expanding your catalogue, our Bulk Lister brings mockups, AI-written listing text and size and frame options into one workflow. Etsy templates support personalisation questions, and Easy Mode pricing includes recommended print and frame prices for you to review.
Review every listing before publishing, especially names shown in examples, personalisation instructions and proof wording. The listing tools help you prepare the sale; you still create each customer’s final artwork.
Move personalised poster fulfilment to PrintShrimp
There are no monthly fulfilment fees or minimum orders. You can start with a small part of your catalogue, check the workflow and add more designs as you go. Optional listing software is separate from order fulfilment.
Check our current pricing and estimated production and delivery times for the products and destinations you sell to. Standard shipping is included for the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and our listed EU regions; Rest of World delivery has a separate shipping charge.
Your personalised designs deserve a fulfilment process that leaves you in control of the artwork—not responsible for printing, framing and dispatching it too.
Create your free PrintShrimp account and connect your shop. Bring in your orders, attach each finished personalised file and let us turn your designs into prints your customers can put on their walls.
