  • 29.7 x 42cm, 11.7 x 16.5 inches. Twice A4, half A2.
  • Any phone photo prints sharp at A3, including most copies sent through messaging apps.
  • Framed A3 leans on a shelf as well as it hangs, which makes it the size for rooms where you can't put a nail in.

Black, White or Oak pine, 20–25mm deep, glazed with shatter-resistant plexiglass, hanging kit in the box. Printed matte so there's no glare behind the glass. Most sizes up to A1.

Black frame

A smooth black finish. Pine, 20–25mm deep, with 1–2mm shatter-resistant plexiglass.

Oak frame

A natural oak finish. Corner-protected in transit and delivered with the hanging kit in the box.

White frame

A clean white frame. Printed matte so there's no glare behind the glass, ready to hang the moment it arrives.

Your questions

Is A3 big enough for a wall?

For a narrow wall, a hallway, beside a door or above a desk, yes. Above a sofa it reads as small on its own; three A3s in a row fix that.

What's the American equivalent of A3?

11x17 is the closest in size, though a different shape (2:3); 11x14 and 12x16 are close too. Pick by the shape of your image; the crop tool shows the fit.

How does an unframed A3 arrive?

Flat, in a stiff mailer, so there's no curl to flatten. Framed A3 comes boxed with the hanging kit.

Can I hang it without nails?

A framed A3 is light enough for a removable adhesive strip rated for the weight, and it leans well on a shelf or a desk. Unframed, washi tape at the corners comes off clean.

A3 as a gift

If you're choosing a size for someone else's wall, A3 is the one that can't be wrong. It fits a flat, a house, an office and a student room; it hangs or leans; and framed it arrives finished, so the person receiving it has nothing to do. A4 reads as a snapshot and A2 needs a wall you've seen.

Black suits most rooms and most images; Oak if the photo is warm; White if you know the room is bright. Matte is what framed prints are printed on, so the finish choice only applies unframed.
