Conference poster printing

Upload the file, choose a size and a frame, and see it in the frame before you pay. Printed on 240gsm giclée paper near you and delivered tracked, with delivery included.

A0 or A1, ordered the night before the deadline

Academic and conference posters at A0 and A1, printed on 240gsm matte paper that reads under hall lighting and survives the trip in a tube. Upload the export from PowerPoint, LaTeX, Canva or Illustrator, check the preview, and in the UK it leaves the same day if ordered before 3pm, tracked, delivery included. Usually cheaper than the university print room.

WHAT TO KNOW

What to know about academic posters

  • Check the size in the call for posters. A0 (84 x 119cm) is the usual board size; A1 (59 x 84cm) for smaller boards and tabletop sessions. Both print either way round.
  • Export as PNG at the poster's size: PowerPoint via File, Export, PNG with the slide set to A0; LaTeX via PDF then a PNG export at 150 to 200dpi; Canva via Download, PNG, 2x.
  • Matte, always: no glare under strip lights, and figures and small text stay legible from a metre away.
  • It arrives rolled in a heavy tube, which is also how it travels to the venue. A day under books flattens it, or pin it straight from the tube; it relaxes on the board.

A0 - 84x119cm: $41.00 unframed. Delivery included; order below.

How long it takes

Prints are normally dispatched the same day in the UK, the US and Australia, and within a couple of days in the EU and Canada; framed prints take one to three working days to make first. Delivery is tracked and included. Order by Tuesday for a Friday session and you're comfortable; order Monday if the venue is far from home. The prices shown above are for your country; for a full breakdown of prices and production times by country, see our pricing page.

HOW IT LOOKS

What you see is what prints

The crop tool fits your file to the size you choose and shows you exactly what will print. Then the product image becomes a preview of your print in the frame. If it looks right on the screen, it's right on the wall; what you upload is what you get.

Live preview
Your file appears in a Black, White or Oak frame the moment it's uploaded. Change the size or frame and it updates.
Crop you control
Drag the crop until the important part is in. Portrait or landscape, same price. Nothing is cropped without you seeing it.
Delivery included
Printed near you, tracked to your door, rolled in a tube or boxed in a frame. Damaged in transit? Reprinted and resent free.
HOW IT WORKS

Ordered in minutes

No print shop, no queue. Choose, upload, check, pay.

Choose a size

A5 to A0, 5x7 to 28x40 inches and squares. Pick the one that suits the shape of your image; the crop frame changes to match it.

Upload and crop

Drop in a photo, a design or a print file, move the crop until it looks right, and what you see is what prints. Add a finish, or a Black, White or Oak frame.

See it framed

The product image becomes your print in the frame you've chosen. Switch frames or sizes until it's right.

Your questions

Can you deliver to the conference venue or my hotel?

Yes. Put the venue or hotel name and your own name in the address, and order a few days early so it's waiting at reception. The tracking tells you when it's signed for.

Will my figures and small text be sharp?

If the export is at the poster's real size, yes: an A0 PNG at 150dpi is about 5000 by 7000 pixels, and text at 24pt reads from a metre. The uploader flags a file that's too small, and the preview shows the result.

Can I claim it on expenses?

Yes; the order confirmation is an itemised receipt with VAT shown, which is what most finance offices ask for.

Is there anything sturdier than paper?

We don't print on fabric or board. 240gsm is heavier than the paper most print rooms use and pins or clips without tearing; roll it back into the tube between sessions and it'll do several conferences.

Exporting a poster that prints the way it looks on screen

Almost every disappointing academic poster was designed at the wrong size. Set the page to A0 or A1 before you start; in PowerPoint that's Design, Slide Size, Custom, 84.1 x 118.9cm, and if you set it afterwards everything scales and your 24pt text becomes 10pt. Then the export: PowerPoint's default PNG is small, so under File, Export, choose PNG and, on Windows, set the resolution in the options; on a Mac, export a PDF and convert it to PNG at 150dpi in Preview. From LaTeX, compile to PDF and export the PDF to PNG at 150 to 200dpi.

Fonts and figures are where the trouble hides: embed fonts or convert text to outlines if the export tool offers it, and place figures as high-resolution images rather than screenshots. A quick zoom to 100% on the exported PNG shows you exactly what will print, and so does the preview here.

Choose matte and order it portrait or landscape to match the board. Upload, check the preview, and if it's before 3pm on a working day in the UK, it leaves today.
