ABOUT

Poster printing for Sunderland, without the print shop

Sunderland is standard UK delivery: included, tracked, usually two to three working days after dispatch. Prints ordered before 3pm on a working day leave the same day; framed prints take one to three working days to make first.

Dark walls are everywhere now, navy and green and charcoal, and the question that follows is which frame. The preview answers it for your own photo, and the guide below gives the rules of thumb. Everything prints the same way: upload, size, frame, preview, pay.

The paper is 240gsm giclée in matte, satin or gloss at one price; frames are Black, White or Oak pine with plexiglass, ready to hang. No minimum, three or more prints to one address 20% off, and prices set for the fifteen thousand sellers who print with us rather than for walk-in customers.

Homes
Photos, digital downloads, children's drawings, gig posters. One print, no minimum, delivered to the door.
Businesses
Office art, event signage, exhibition and market prints. Pay per order, no account manager required.
Sellers
More than 5,000 shops print with us every day, which is why a single poster costs so little.

THE PAPER

Paper you can feel

Every poster is printed on 240gsm archival paper, FSC-certified, with giclée-quality inks. It's the paper our sellers get rave reviews for, and it's the same for a single print as for a thousand. Three finishes, all the same price.

Gloss
Bold, vibrant colours with a reflective shine. The one for photos.
Satin
Smooth, subtle sheen with minimal glare. Lifts colour without the shine.
Matte
Classic flat finish, no reflections. The choice for art prints and anything behind glass.

Printing in Sunderland: your questions

Which frame colour for a dark wall?

Oak or White, which stand out from the wall; Black disappears into navy or charcoal unless the print itself is bright. A white border in the file helps any frame on a dark wall.

Does the Oak frame look like real oak?

It's pine with a natural oak finish, light and grained; it reads as oak on a wall and warms a dark room.

Will a low-light photo print well?

At A3 or A2 from the original file, yes; matte keeps dark areas smooth. Bigger than that, night photos show their grain.

Can I order one framed and the rest unframed?

Yes, in one order; the unframed ones get 20% off at three or more.

Frames and finishes for a dark wall

On a white wall the frame is an outline; on a dark wall it's the thing that separates the picture from the paint. Oak is the safe choice on navy, green and charcoal: it's warm, it shows, and it suits photos and art alike. White is sharper and more modern, and makes a dark wall look deliberate. Black works only when the print is light enough to carry it, a pale photo or a line drawing on white paper.

A white border in the file does a lot here: it puts a band of white between the picture and the frame, so even a Black frame on a dark wall reads clearly. About a tenth of the shorter side is enough.

Finish matters more too, because dark rooms have fewer windows and more lamps. Matte avoids the lamp's reflection; framed prints are matte anyway. Upload your photo and flick between the three frames in the preview; it's a thirty-second decision made with the real picture.
