ABOUT

Poster printing for Cheltenham, without the print shop

Cheltenham is standard UK delivery: included, tracked, usually two to three working days after dispatch. Prints ordered before 3pm on a working day leave the same day; framed prints take one to three working days to make first.

Cheltenham has frames: inherited ones, antique-shop ones, the good one from the old house with nothing in it. Prints come in exact standard sizes, so the job is matching the print to the frame or the mount you've got, and the guide below covers how. Or let us frame it, in Black, White or Oak.

The paper is 240gsm giclée in matte, satin or gloss at one price; frames are Black, White or Oak pine with plexiglass, ready to hang. No minimum, three or more prints to one address 20% off, and prices set for the fifteen thousand sellers who print with us rather than for walk-in customers.

Homes
Photos, digital downloads, children's drawings, gig posters. One print, no minimum, delivered to the door.
Businesses
Office art, event signage, exhibition and market prints. Pay per order, no account manager required.
Sellers
More than 5,000 shops print with us every day, which is why a single poster costs so little.

THE PAPER

Paper you can feel

Every poster is printed on 240gsm archival paper, FSC-certified, with giclée-quality inks. It's the paper our sellers get rave reviews for, and it's the same for a single print as for a thousand. Three finishes, all the same price.

Gloss
Bold, vibrant colours with a reflective shine. The one for photos.
Satin
Smooth, subtle sheen with minimal glare. Lifts colour without the shine.
Matte
Classic flat finish, no reflections. The choice for art prints and anything behind glass.

Printing in Cheltenham: your questions

Will the print fit a frame I already own?

If the frame is a standard size, yes: prints are cut to exact A-series and inch sizes. Measure the inside of the frame's rebate, or the mount's opening, and pick the size that matches; for an odd size, print the next size up and trim.

Can I cancel an order?

Before it's printed, yes: email hey@printshrimp.com with the order number straight away. Prints are made the same day, so the window is short.

Can I print a photo for a mount with a smaller opening?

Yes. Order the size of the mount's outer edge and the opening shows the middle; the crop tool lets you place the subject where the opening will be.

Is it the same paper for a print that's going behind glass?

Yes, and choose matte: no reflection on top of the glass, and it's what our own framed prints use.

Poster printing near Cheltenham

Delivery covers Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, including Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Stroud, Evesham and Tetbury, at the same price. Nearby: Bath and Oxford. Across the country: the UK.

Printing to fit a frame you already have

Take the back off the frame and measure the glass, or the mount's outer edge if there is one, in centimetres. Most frames are a standard size: 21 x 30 is A4, 30 x 42 is A3, 42 x 59 is A2, and the inch sizes, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 24x36, are the ones older and American frames use. Order that size and the print drops in.

If the frame has a mount, measure the opening too and use the crop tool to put the subject where the opening will be; a print the size of the mount's outer edge with a face in the middle is what you want. If the frame is an odd size, order the next standard size up and trim it with a ruler and a craft knife; 240gsm cuts cleanly.

Matte is the finish for anything going behind glass, because the glass provides the shine. A print unframed arrives flat up to A3 and rolled above that; a day under books and it lies flat enough to frame.
