Will a landscape photo print well?

Yes, and in landscape sizes it prints best: 24x36, 20x30 and A1 sideways. The crop tool offers both orientations.

I rent. Can I hang a framed print without damage?

Smaller framed prints take removable adhesive strips rated for the weight; any size leans on a shelf or against a wall. Unframed, washi tape at the corners comes off clean.

Is the packaging recyclable?

Yes. Tubes and boxes are cardboard, and the paper is FSC-certified.

Printing film scans and black-and-white photos

A film scan prints as well as the scan was made. The lab's full-resolution file prints sharp at A2 or 16x20; the small preview they emailed does not, so ask for the large scan or the TIFF and export a JPEG from it. Grain is part of the picture; matte keeps it looking like grain rather than noise, which is why matte is the paper for film.

Black-and-white wants deep blacks and a neutral tone, and that's what the pigment inks on matte give. Avoid gloss, which turns shadows into reflections, and let the preview show you the photo in a Black frame, which is the classic pairing, or White for a lighter look.

A white border in the file before uploading gives the mounted look without a mat, and suits film photos particularly. Three or more prints to one address are 20% off, which makes a series affordable.
