What to know about 24x36

  • 24 x 36 inches, 61 x 91cm. The 2:3 shape, shared with 12x18, 16x24 and 20x30.
  • Camera photos and most bought printables in the 2:3 version fit without cropping; a phone photo crops a little, which the crop tool shows.
  • Framed 24x36 arrives glazed with plexiglass and two hangers; hang it from two hooks.
  • A phone photo is marginal at this size; a camera photo, a designed file or a printable is fine. The preview tells you before you pay.

Black, White or Oak pine, 20–25mm deep, glazed with shatter-resistant plexiglass, hanging kit in the box. Printed matte so there's no glare behind the glass. Most sizes up to A1.

Black frame

A smooth black finish. Pine, 20–25mm deep, with 1–2mm shatter-resistant plexiglass.

Oak frame

A natural oak finish. Corner-protected in transit and delivered with the hanging kit in the box.

Will a 24x36 fit a standard poster frame?

Yes, it's printed to the exact size, so an off-the-shelf 24x36 frame fits; or order it framed and skip the shop.

Can I print a movie-style poster I designed?

Your own design, yes; export it as a PNG at 24x36 and choose matte for crisp text. Film and TV artwork you don't own the rights to, no.

What's the nearest metric size?

A1, slightly smaller and a different shape. 50x70cm is close too. Pick by the shape of your image.

How is an unframed 24x36 posted?

Rolled in a heavy-duty tube, tracked. A day under a few books and it lies flat.

24x36 or 20x30: when the big one is too big

24x36 is a statement: above a full-size sofa, a king bed or on a wall of its own it looks right, and anywhere smaller it looks like the wall lost. 20x30, the same shape a step down, suits a two-seater, a double bed or a dining wall, and it's the size most people actually want when they ask for 24x36.

The test is width: a single print above furniture should be around two thirds of the furniture's width. A three-seater is about 84 inches, so 24x36 fits; a loveseat is about 60, so 20x30.

Both come framed. At 24x36 use the two hangers on the back and two hooks so it sits flat; the plexiglass keeps it light enough for ordinary hooks.
